With the Gibson Non-Reverse Thunderbird Ebony E-Bass , the traditional company from Nashville is reissuing the Thunderbird, which was first built from 1966 to 1969, with a mirrored body design. As the perfect instrument for individualists looking for Bass sounds off the beaten track, the non-reverse Thunderbird offers comfortable playing characteristics and a sound full of character. Classic bass hardware in the form of a 3-point bridge and lightweight hipshot tuners complete the Gibson Thunderbird E-Bass from the Gibson Modern Collection.
Classic style and a sound full of character: the Gibson Non-Reverse Thunderbird Ebony comes with a chic nitro finish and offers first-class playing characteristics.
The glued mahogany neck in the classic "rounded" profile can be easily played up to the high registers.
Thunderbird in set-neck construction
Like its role model from the late sixties, the non-reverse Thunderbird Ebony also comes in a classic set-neck design with a long 34" scale length (864 mm), which promises a powerful sound with a long Sustain . For the glued neck and body, Gibson uses mahogany, while the 22-fret fretboard is made of rosewood. The "rounded" profile, which is not too thick, also promises the best playing characteristics for comfortable grooving.
Classic Thunderbird pickups and a passive electric system with two volume controls and a treble control promise powerful bass sounds.
Rich sound with Thunderbird pickups
On the bass amplifier, the Thunderbird with two Soapbar pickups provides characterful sounds with a pleasant vintage note and unrestricted suitability for the classic styles of blues, rock and R'n'B. While the Thunderbird lead pickup on the bridge promises a powerful, wiry, articulate sound, the Thunderbird Rhythm pickup in the middle position, again Bass explains how it comes into its own. For precise tuning of the Bass sound, the bass guitar has classic passive electrics with individual volume pots for each pickup and a general treble control.
Lightweight Hipshot Ultralite tuners prevent the neck from dipping and keep the non-reverse Thunderbird securely in tune.
