With the Martin Grand J-16E 12-String, the traditional manufacturer from Nazareth in Pennsylvania fulfills its fans' long-cherished dream of a 12-string acoustic guitar in the Grand J design, which has a full-bodied sound with a delicate chorus effect both electrically and acoustically.
This is produced by a fully solid construction consisting of a Sitka spruce top and an East Indian rosewood body, which unfolds every note with clarity and definition and enriches it with a saturating warmth. To generate an obliging playability, the manufacturer uses a flat neck made of select hardwood, which thanks to a compensated saddle made of GraphTech TUSQ and a 46 mm wide bone nut intonates cleanly in all 20 frets. Visually, the instrument is rounded off by a multi-ply antique-white binding, a generous tortoise pickguard and a Bold-Herringbone soundhole rosette, which contrast very pleasantly with the coarse-grained wood of the body.
Another highlight is the high-quality Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT2 pickup system, which also amplifies the acoustic sound and transmits the tone to the amplifier in a very natural way. The Martin Grand J-16E 12-String is completed by a sturdy, custom-fit gigbag.
