While the Aquila design, realized with thermally treated TEW woods, combines traditional design elements and contemporary detail solutions for extremely agile playing characteristics, TKO by Bare Knuckle pickups provide adequate clean and distortion sounds with razor-sharp presentation of every note even at low tunings. Last but not least, Mayones completes the Adam Christianson Aquila Cardinal with high-quality Hardware in the form of a Hipshot Fixed Bridge and tuning stable Gotoh 510 Locking tuners.

The sculpted neck base and fluted lower cutaway allow unobstructed access to the high registers of the TEW maple neck.

The body made of thermo-treated TEW ash (Tonally Enhanced Wood) not only lies snugly against the body thanks to the generous comfort shapings, but also guarantees unhindered accessibility to the high registers thanks to the flowing shape of the neck heel and lower cutaway. In addition, the wide D-profile of the bolt-on TEW maple neck with a thickness of just 22 mm at the first fret promises buttery-smooth playability, so that any riff, no matter how complex, can be realized with ease on the ebony fingerboard. Here, virtually wear-free Ferd Wagner stainless steel frets in extra jumbo format let bendings glide like on rails, while blue fluorescent Luminlay side dots promise a safe orientation even on dark stages.

As pickup for the Aquila Cardinal Adam Christianson chooses TKO by Bare Knuckle humbuckers with untreated raw nickel covers perfectly matching the antique look of the electric guitar. The pickups, wound by the British pickup smithy especially for Mayones, convince with a contemporary sound that also presents deep tunings with razor-sharp articulation. While the tight, ceramic magnet-equipped TKO Bridge humbucker is best suited for whipping riffing with explosive Attack and cutting high-speed solos, the moderate TKO Neck humbucker convinces thanks to the Alnico V magnets with a warm, harmonic sound for full cleans and singing overdrive. Besides the coil split option via push/pull switch in the volume knob, which expands the guitar's repertoire to glassy single coil tones, the Aquila Cardinal guitar features a treble bleed circuit to prevent unwanted treble loss when turning down the volume pot.
