Faderfox EC4 - Encoder Controller at a Glance

The Faderfox EC4 is a compact and robust universal controller designed for all MIDI-compatible hardware and software applications. Equipped with 16 endless push encoders, 7 function buttons, and a large OLED display, it delivers maximum flexibility while taking up minimal space. The encoders can be programmed independently across 16 groups, providing access to up to 256 control parameters per setup. The OLED display shows encoder values as well as editable names for setups, groups, and encoders. Various command types, including pitch bend, aftertouch, NRPN, program change, and control change, are supported in both relative and absolute modes, with adjustable acceleration functions. For precise control, such as with filter cut-offs, the EC4 also supports a 14-bit high-resolution mode (NRPN, control change, and pitch bend). The controller offers 16 internal setups for personalised configurations, which can be backed up and restored via Sysex Dump. Pre-configured factory settings allow the EC4 to be used straight out of the box, enabling effortless control of MIDI-compatible music and video software without additional setup. Perfect as an add-on for an Ableton Live setup, the EC4 comes with a custom control surface script that includes all necessary mappings.
