Inspired by classic vintage tape delays of the seventies, the Universal Audio Orion Tape Echo fulfils every desire for characterful and room-filling delay and echo sounds. In doing so, the Orion even skilfully implements the characteristic wear and tear of the analogue models, which, in contrast to the past, can now be added to the sound at will. The condition of the magnetic tape used can be simulated in three stages from Mint to Worn to Old, while the Wonk control interacts with the selected tape condition and adds modulating Repeats and other inaccuracies to the sound. Also on board is a faithful emulation of the legendary solid-state preamp from the original tape echo of the seventies, which lent its incomparable sound to numerous iconic recordings of the last decades.
