The T-8 Beat Machine as part of Roland's AIRA Compact series is a very compact groovebox with the popular TR & TB sounds of the popular classics of once and battery operation. The practical device offers six Drum tracks that can be loaded with the cult sounds of TR-909, TR-808 and TR-606 as desired, the bass track uses the sound aesthetic of a TB-303. Thanks to the ACB sound generation used, which is known from other synthesizers and groove tools of the AIRA series, the drum basslines sound as authentic as the original machines from the 80s! For cool tension arcs and to spice up the self-programmed patterns, the T-8 offers the effects delay, reverb and overdrive as well as a sidechain compressor. Roland wouldn't be Roland if the T-8 wasn't equipped with the easy-to-use TR running light sequencer. This offers access to 64 patterns, each of which can be up to 32 steps (2 bars) long. Of course, shuffle and accent are also programmable, so that more funk liveliness enters the grooves.
Battery operation & connections
The internal lithium-ion battery allows an operating time of about 4.5 hours and is charged via USB. The T-8 can also be connected to a DAW via USB and can even be used as an audio interface to integrate beats and basslines directly into the arrangement. With the sync inputs and outputs the T-8 can be synchronized to other devices of the AIRA Compact series. Via MIDI you can connect the Groovebox to other equipment using a separately available MIDI-TRS adapter. The mix input is suitable for small setups and loops signals through to the output; Mix Out is a combined line and headphone output.
