Thanks to the cardioid polar pattern, the SM4 offers effective off-axis noise suppression and reduces the proximity effect. The integrated Interference Shielding Technology protects recordings from disruptive high-frequency interference from wireless devices such as smartphones and WLAN routers. This enables clear and undisturbed audio playback.

The SM4 is equipped with an integrated pop filter, which ensures plosive-free recordings and significantly reduces post-processing work. Optionally, the microphone can be supplemented with the external pop filter, which together with the internal filter forms an effective two-stage system.
