The Aston Element Bundle consists of the new Aston Element and the accessories spider and pop shield. It is not only its design that is unique so far: the capsule as well as the active electronics have also been developed in a public design process. In the process, the various prototypes have had to prove themselves in studios around the world in direct comparisons and blind tests against the classics of their design from renowned manufacturers such as Neumann, Rode, AKG and Audio Technica.

Why so much effort in developing the capsule?

Unlike most microphones in its price range, with the Element Aston put all its efforts into designing and manufacturing the microphone capsule, which is usually the weak point of inexpensive microphones. The Element contains a moving coil capsule with an extremely light, fast-impulse diaphragm that is followed by powerful active electronics; too weak a preamp in the interface is often the cause of noisy recordings with ordinary dynamic microphones. In addition, the entire sound-sensitive part is internally freely suspended all around, which effectively protects against shocks from all directions.
