The Electro Voice RE 20 Black is a dynamic large diaphragm microphone with cardioid characteristics and has been specially developed for the reproduction of speech in the broadcast sector. The housing design compensates for a large part of the proximity effect, giving the speaker more freedom of movement in front of the microphone. Other features such as the special capsule suspension, a built-in pop protection that does not muffle speech and a hum compensation coil that cancels out interference voltages make the RE 20 one of the least susceptible microphones to interference - a must in live situations, which are commonplace in broadcasting.
