The RØDE K2 is an excellent tube condenser microphone with two 1" diaphragms and continuously adjustable polar pattern.
The two 1" diaphragms allow infinitely variable adjustment of the polar pattern. This allows you to blend from cardioid to omnidirectional to bi-directional/eight via the external power supply, making the K2 an extremely flexible and versatile microphone.
With its 6922 twin-triode tubes, the sound of the RØDE K2 is reminiscent of the legendary microphones of the 1950s. With an incredible 162dB SPL, extremely low self-noise of only 10dBA, and sensational low-frequency response, the K2 is ideal for recording vocals, numerous instruments, and pure room acoustics ("ambience").
