The Garagekey PAD from Miditech is a USB keyboard controller with a velocity sensitive keyboard with 25 mini keys. The Garagekey PAD is compatible with the vast majority of DAWs (Ableton, MPC Beats, Logic, Cubase...), so any parameter in the DAW can be assigned directly to the eight knobs, making the handling of the software in the most pleasant way. The 16 color-coded and velocity-sensitive pads offer a defined pressure point and are perfectly suited for dynamically recording entire drum sets and firing off samples. Instead of the familiar handwheels for pitchbend and modulation, two ribbon controllers are installed, which are operated by finger swipe. As playing aids there is a simple chord function that remembers the last notes pressed simultaneously and an arpeggiator with the usual repertoire of playback patterns in the range of 1-4 octaves. The handy transport keys control the main functions such as recording and playback in a DAW. Thanks to the MIDI output, the master keyboard is also perfectly suitable for playing hardware synthesizers.
