Locutus is an expansion module with MIDI trio for Super Sampler Assimil8or from Rossum Electro-Music. The expander allows full control of the Assimil8or via MIDI using notes, velocity, aftertouch, CC (control change) and program change and provides new polyphonic possibilities for playing the channels. In addition, Locutus is able to convert incoming control voltages in the Assimil8or into MIDI data. In other words, this module combination is also a CV-to-MIDI converter that can be used to control a rack synthesizer from the modular system. The MIDI-Thru jack will be appreciated by anyone with more than two MIDI devices, here everything is passed on from the MIDI input. For Locutus to work it is necessary to update the Assimil8or to version 3.0 (or higher). The free update includes a number of important feature enhancements and factory content such as presets, samples and various MIDI setups, and is what makes MIDI control through Locutus possible in the first place.
