It combines expressive tonal variety, smooth playability, and robust construction in a space-saving design, making it ideal for smaller rooms or studios.
Craftsmanship
The frame is cast using Yamaha's long-refined vacuum process, which not only withstands the string tension of over twenty tons but also significantly shapes the instrument's tonal character. To ensure consistent quality, every aspect from casting temperature to frame composition and coating is carefully controlled and continuously optimized. The GB1's action, shared with Yamaha's hybrid instruments, provides a fluid and nuanced playing experience suitable for both beginners and advanced pianists.
Sound
The GB1 impresses with its balanced tonal profile and wide dynamic range, characteristic of Yamaha's high standards. Despite its compact baby grand size, it competes sonically with much larger grand pianos. With its professional-quality sound and excellent price-performance ratio, the GB1 is ideal as a practice instrument, for teaching, or for smaller performance settings.
The silent system - play at any time with or without volume
The integrated Silent System allows you to play at any time without disturbing others. In silent mode, the hammers are mechanically stopped before striking the strings, and the sound is generated digitally and transmitted through headphones. The result is a high-quality, authentic grand piano tone that comes remarkably close to the acoustic original.
