The Antares Mutator Evo (Licence) is a Voice Design and Distortion Plug-In for the tonal design of vocal parts. It offers beginners and (semi) professional users in the studio and home recording sector a simple tool for subtle or extreme changes in voice quality. The setting parameters include Pitch Modulation, Ring Modulator-based mutation and Alienation controls, alongside Throat Modelling technology for a more natural, anatomically correct variation of the human voice. A graphical interface shows the change of the sound curve in comparison to the raw signal.

For better clarity, the individual parameters of voice distortion are divided into 3x groups in the user interface. In the first group, Voice Design (the Throat Modelling technology known from Antares plug-ins) is used to change the fundamental tone colour of the voice in the more natural range. In the Mutate section the voice is distorted with one of 24x filters into the supernatural realm, which seems rather monster-like. In the third zone, called Alienize, the voice can be chopped up into individual packages and played backwards to achieve an extra-terrestrial or mystical character. The parameters are precisely definable and can even be synchronized to the BPM tempo of the song. In this way, this plug-in gives you the opportunity to subtly or extremely alter the voices of your vocal recordings into the creature realm. The UI is manageable with all setting options, so that only little training time is necessary.
