The Zoom R20 consistently transports all the features of Zoom's successful multitrack recorders into a modern production environment with 4.3" LCD touchscreen, direct access to editing functions, 16-channel digital mixer, audio interface and built-in sound generator.

With the R20, Zoom has radically cleaned up the user interface and placed access to all editing functions and settings in a touchscreen: Here, the desired function or view can be selected via a menu bar and then edited directly. Editing and setting insert effects is now child's play. Working on the digital console is made easier with the possibilities of modern DSP and computer technology.

Channel strip and effect path

For each of the 16 tracks, the R20 provides an equalizer with 3 fixed bands, an effect insert, effect send, and a full dynamics section with compressor, gate, and limiter. For the effect paths and inserts, the R20 offers indispensable effect sounds such as delay and reverb on 50 memory locations, which can be used a total of three times either on track inserts or the global effect path.

MIDI functions and sample player

The Zoom R20 includes powerful MIDI and sample functions that are ideal for capturing ideas and practicing, and even for final backing tracks. The integrated synthesizer offers 17 professional tones, a full-blown programmable drum kit, and 150 rhythm loops in 50 genres. The R20 can be easily played via a MIDI keyboard connected to the USB jack or programmed on the touchscreen. Additional loops and sounds can be loaded via SD card according to the user's wishes.
