The Mesa Boogie Mark VII is an innovative electric guitar top unit that combines tried-and-tested tube power with modern features, making the Mark VII an ideal amplifier for gigs, studio sessions or home use. Mesa Boogie is regarded as an innovative amp manufacturer and, with the Mark VII, has opted for a comprehensive tube amp that is equipped with five 12AX7 tubes in the preamp stage and four 6L6 power amp tubes. With a total of three channels, nine voicings and an output of 90 watts, the amp provides a comprehensive sound base that can be refined with additional features. In addition to a conventional 3-band EQ for treble, mid and bass, a graphic EQ can be used to adjust further subtleties - independently for each channel. Other features of the Mark VII Head include four speaker inputs (two 4 Ohm and two 8 Ohm), an FX loop, MIDI IN and MIDI THRU/OUT inputs and the CabClone IR DI interface outputs (Direct Out and USB), which are perfect for studio or home use. In addition, the BIAS value can be switched from 6L6 to EL34 via a toggle switch. If the Mesa Boogie head is mainly used in the studio or at home, the output can be reduced to either 45 or 25 watts. With nine selectable voicings, the Mark VII can control a wide range of sounds that are split across three channels. The range of voicings extends from clean, fat and crunch to strong high-gain distortion. The Mark VII therefore acts as a true playground for hard rock and metal, shining with warm clean sounds and crunchy crunch tones at the same time.
