The Tube-Tech SMC2B stereo multi-band compressor features three independent optical stereo compressors. The signal is divided into three bands (Low, Mid and High) by a x-over network (6dB/octav) with variable frequencies, 60Hz to 1,2kHz for Low/Mid band and 1.2kHz to 6kHz for Mid/High band. The design of the x-over network, maintains an optimum summing of the three bands, so the frequency response will be flat within +/-O.25dB when the gain controls for each band are set at the same level. The three compressors (common for the two channels) feature Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Output gain and a display showing gain reduction. A balance control compensates for differences (+/- 1.5db) between channels 1 and 2. Both Input and output are balanced and have fully floating transformers with a static screen. The power supply and the side chain circuit are based on solid-state circuit. All DC voltages are stabilized, except the voltage for the output stage.
