The Spector NS Pulse II 4 Black Cherry Matte combines the core features of the basses designed by Stuart Spector and Ned Steinberger in a modern 4-string Bass with excellent handling and multi-faceted sound. While the classic bolt-on construction with long-scale scale, swamp ash body and five-bolt roasted maple neck creates the basis for a tight sound of every string, the wide neck profile offers ideal playing characteristics for ambitious band accompaniment and virtuoso solo excursions. On the bass amp, the four-string delivers a wide variety of tones thanks to EMG pickups in the PJ setup and TonePump Jr. active electronics, making it an all-rounder for almost any style of music. Of course, Spector completes the NS Pulse II 4 Black Cherry matte Bass with the in-house Locking bridge and tuning stable die-cast tuners.
In order to combine a powerful sound and highly comfortable playing characteristics in one instrument, Spector not only relies on the proven NS bass design for the NS Pulse II four-string, but also on a classic 34" scale length (864mm). The ergonomic design allows the swamp ash body to assume a snug playing position with near-perfect balance, while the five-bolt, toasted maple neck's wide, flat profile makes any bass-playing technique come off with ease. Fluorescent side dots guarantee perfect orientation between 24 frets of the Macassar ebony fingerboard. Last but not least, the cloud maple top underlines the dignified noble bass look of the NS Pulse II 4.
As pickup for the NS Pulse II four-stringer Spector chooses two active EMG pickups in the popular PJ arrangement. While in middle position the ceramic magnet-equipped EMG P split-coil pickup promises a warm yet precisely articulated sound with incredibly punchy low-end growl, in bridge position an EMG J single coil, also equipped with ceramic magnets, provides wiry tones with accentuated midrange presence and enormous assertiveness. In addition to the blend control, which smoothly mixes the signals of the two EMG Bass pickups for multifaceted sound nuances, the active Spector TonePump Jr. tone control with boost pots for bass and treble allows the precise adjustment of the personal bass sound.
Last but not least, Spector completes the NS Pulse II 4 Black Cherry matte bass guitar with high-quality and reliable add-on parts. The Spector Locking bridge, equipped with lockable tailpieces, not only guarantees a bombproof anchoring of the strings on the body and an exact adjustment of intonation and string action, but also supports the tight and sustain-rich sound of the electric bass guitar. At the headstock, a graphite saddle guides the four bass strings to the precise Spector Die-Cast tuners, which keep them securely in tune.
