Named after Paul Reed Smith's longtime friend and mentor Ted McCarty, whose innovative spirit and inventiveness were instrumental in shaping the history of the electric guitar in the Fifties and Sixties, the PRS McCarty 594 Eriza Verde combines classic vintage virtues with the Marylander Company's signature appointments. While the set-neck construction with 24.594" scale length and carefully selected woods create the basis for buttery-smooth playability and lively sound development, PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers with TCI tuning on the guitar amplifier provide authentic vintage tones with amazing flexibility. Also, as a tribute to Ted McCarty, the Tune-O-Matic bridge he invented with Stopbar tailpiece and classic Vintage-Style tuners complete the McCarty 594 Eriza Verde electric guitar from PRS.

The constructional heart of the McCarty 594 is undoubtedly the precisely measured scale length of 24.594" (624.69 mm), which, together with the carefully selected tonewoods in the classic combination of mahogany body, curly maple top and mahogany neck, gives the electric guitar a warm and sustain-rich sound with a distinct vintage character. The pleasantly strong "Pattern Vintage" neck profile also promises highly comfortable playing characteristics in all positions of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, on which naturally Bird inlays mark the positions.

Split PRS 58/15 LT humbuckers with TCI tuning deliver authentic vintage tones.

58/15 LT Pickups

For the pickup of the McCarty 594 Eriza Verde Paul Reed Smith chooses two 58/15 LT humbuckers, which are naturally subjected to the TCI process (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) for an optimally matched inductance and capacitance. In conjunction with the significantly reduced number of coil windings, the 58/15 "low turns" pickups elicit authentic, particularly warm vintage sounds from the guitar amplifier, which can be shaped via touch and playing style thanks to the excellent dynamic behavior. The coil split option via the push/pull switches of the tone controls also provides glassy single-coil sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum.

Vintage-style tuners with white plastic wings provide accurate and stable tuning on the headstock of the McCarty 594.

Hardware in hybrid look

Last but not least, PRS completes the McCarty 594 Eriza Verde electric guitar with high-quality Hardware in an appealing hybrid nickel and gold look.
