The PRS Modern Eagle V McCarty Sunburst from the guitar manufacturer Paul Reed Smith in Maryland, USA, was conceived with a tasteful, high-quality design and sophisticated circuitry and can therefore meet the tonal demands of modern guitarists. The extensive sound circuitry with HSH pickups, coil splitting and 5-way circuitry promises a varied sound on the amplifier, ranging from classic blues and rock sounds to clear and modern sounds with high definition and dynamics. Strong tonewoods such as mahogany and curly maple give the electric guitar its character. Furthermore, the PRS Modern Eagle V is equipped with a PRS Generation III Tremolo and PRS Phase III locking tuners , which ensures robust intonation.
As with all PRS electric guitars, the Modern Eagle V McCarty Sunburst focuses on both quality and functionality, so the tonewoods and Hardware used not only contribute to the tonal structure of the electric guitar, but also offer a generally robust and reliable finish. The mahogany body and neck are glued together with a slim neck heel, making the 22-fret fingerboard with bird inlays easy to reach even in the high registers. The in-house PRS Gen III tremolo, on the other hand, impresses with smooth handling thanks to its smooth finish and stable tuning thanks to the six PRS Phase III locking tuners.
A total of 17 different sound options can be individually set on the PRS Modern Eagle V via its selection of switches. Both TCI humbuckers offer warm double-coil sounds, which shine with customized voicings thanks to individually switchable EQs using two mini toggles. Both humbuckers can also be combined using the push/pull function of the tone control in positions 1 and 5, while the NS-01 single-coil pickup in the middle position provides further tonal flexibility. With a flexible 5-way switch , there are no limits to classic and modern electric guitar sounds.
