The Brian May Special LE Jubilee Gold is a detailed replica of the legendary "Red Special" electric guitar, which has always been the unmistakable trademark of the Queen guitarist. Like the original, which Brian built together with his father in the early 1960s using wood from a mantelpiece that was more than 100 years old, the limited edition BMG Special in a timelessly elegant black and gold look also has a mahogany body with resonance chambers, a glued mahogany neck in a comfortable C-profile and a buttery smooth 24" scale length (610 mm). Three Brian May Guitars Custom Tri-Sonic Style single coils and the elaborate circuitry also promise a particularly flexible sound between glassy cleans and rich rock distortion. Naturally, a Wilkinson WVP-2 2-Point Knife Edge Tremolo and tuning-stable locking tuners complete the features of the Brian May Guitars Special LE Jubilee Gold.
In the construction of the Special Special LE Jubilee Gold , Brian May Guitars naturally follows the model known as "Fireplace" and "Old Lady". Accordingly, the mahogany body has generous resonance chambers that not only promise an additional resonance boost, but also a perfect balance on the strap. In combination with the wide C-profile of the glued, one-piece mahogany neck, the short 24" scale length (610 mm) promises butter-soft playing characteristics and full control over string bendings on the 24-fret ebony fingerboard.
A not insignificant part of the unmistakable Brian May sound, as can be heard on countless Queen albums, is clearly the characterful circuitry of the Red Special, which the BGM Special LE Jubilee Gold naturally reproduces exactly. While three Brian May Guitars Custom Tri-Sonic Style single coils take over the electrical sound conversion, a total of six slider switches provide control over the sound. In addition to three on/off switches, which can be used to realize all available pickup combinations, there are three switches for phase reversal of each single coil. Furthermore, a volume control and a tone pot allow the guitar sound to be adjusted.
For the BMG Special LE Jubilee Gold, Brian May relies on high-quality components that more than meet professional demands. The popular Wilkinson WVP 2-Point Knife Edge Tremolo serves as the bridge, which not only reacts to movements of the Custom tremolo arm as smooth as butter, but also guarantees precise adjustment of intonation and string action with six brass string saddles. Behind the zero fret and nut, Grover Top-Locking Locking tuners also keep the BMG Special LE Black 'N' Gold in the correct tuning, even after frequent grips on the tremolo lever.
