The Roland GO:LIVECAST is the perfect all-in-one solution for live streams on platforms like Youtube or Facebook Live. It not only connects your smartphone with external microphone and line level sources like CD player or keyboard, but also features a podcast-ready user interface: at the bottom left of the Roland GO:LIVECAST there are 6 freely assignable pads that can be used to play clips, images, free text or music live after starting the recording with the radio tower button. The volume of these pads can also be adjusted in real time via a dedicated volume control. Another slider and two trim pots on the side can be used to adjust the volume of the external microphone, headphones and 3.5mm jack input. The remaining buttons add a reverb effect to the voice, mute the microphone and switch to a second camera.
The scope of delivery of the Roland GO:LIVECAST includes, in addition to the necessary USB cables, an extensive production app, with which all necessary video production steps can be carried out even without prior knowledge. Thus, not only the 6 pads can be assigned, but also video filters can be switched, a second camera can be configured and comments live can be displayed during the transmission. It is also possible to switch the camera orientation and between landscape and portrait mode. The app and Roland GO:LIVECAST together result in a viable complete solution that can be used by beginners without any problems, but also allows professional podcasters to achieve sufficient quality while maintaining a stable runtime.
