With the KHDK No. 1 Overdrive Kirk Hammetts Effektschmiede presents a distortion pedal for electric guitar with an amplifier-like sound and authentic tube character. Thanks to the complex circuit with two gain stages and Hi/Lo switch, the effect pedal delivers a particularly harmonious overdrive, whose vivid sound representation and high transparency do not distort the instrument character and carry the notes with gentle compression. The distortion can be finely adjusted via the Gain control and the Bass control, which feeds bass and low frequencies to the second Gain Stage. In Hi mode, KHKD No 1 delivers additional gain reserves that increase the overdrive to a pleasant distortion. In addition, a classic passive treble diaphragm is available for further sound shaping.
