Powerful DSP processor

Both main and RCA outputs as well as the headphone jacks can be assigned with DSP effects. For this purpose, the interface not only contains a DSP chip that calculates the integrated effects latency-free, but also a plug-in collection with 4 amp simulations, a complete channel strip with compressor, Drive and EQ as well as a complex reverb algorithm. All effects come from Yamaha and are far more than a mere gimmick, but play on a professional level. With these tools, it's easy to record DI tracks of guitars and basses or vocals from the comfort of your home, listen to them in real-time, and at the same time use the studio-quality effects to generate a realistic, inspiring recording setting.

At the same time, as usual with Steinberg interfaces, the DAW signal can be mixed directly with the recording signal. The Steinberg UR24C audio interface extends this function with a headphone DSP that can switch between a monitoring mode for music production and one for collaboration with DJ software: In DAW mode, the slider switches between the main monitor outputs and the headphone jack, while in DJ mode a separate Mix can be created for the PA (main) and the DJ (cue) and, if desired, either mixed (stereo) or output for alternate listening with only one listener so that the main signal appears on the right and the cue signal on the left.

Outstanding Steinberg quality

As usual, the microphone preamplifier and converter are on a professional level and deliver a transient-rich, accurate sound. It is the first device in its price class to offer 32-bit resolution. The housing is made of robust sheet steel and is suitable for stage use without hesitation; an overhang on the back additionally protects the connectors of your cables.
