The Wittner M829161 Classic Series Metronome (Black/Silver) is a traditional Mechanical Metronome, used by Musicians for centuries to help keep time during practice sessions. The Classic Series Metronomes are presented in Plastic Cases, without Bell, in a number of Finishes.
The Metronome is a Mechanical or Electronic Device with the purpose of enabling a steady Tempo by striking Note Values (mostly Quarter Notes). The Number set on the Metronome indicates the Beats per Minute (BPM). Assuming a 4/4 Time Signature and setting the Metronome to 60, a ¼ Note will take exactly 1 second. The Electronic Metronome generates the Beat Signal electronically. Its size can range from that of a Mechanical Metronome down to credit card size. It is helpful when rehearsing pieces of Music and is also often used to increase Sight Reading Speed.
