The Audio-Technica AT5047 is a handmade condenser microphone with an exceptionally wide dynamic range that captures the entire expressive character of instruments and vocals. Four rectangular membranes work together as a combined surface twice as large as a 1-inch circular membrane. Together with the discrete components used and an output transformer, maximum performance and compatibility with external microphone preamps and console inputs as well as a very linear sound character are achieved. Another outstanding feature is the internal shock absorption, which decouples the capsule from the micro of the housing.
