The Golden Age Project D2 MKII is a dynamic microphone with a large diaphragm capsule. It contains 3 switchable filters that change the sound characteristics: Filters 1 and 2 attenuate the bass range at 120 and 210 Hertz and 3dB respectively to compensate for the proximity effect. Filter 3, on the other hand, cuts the midrange at 5kHz to linearize the frequency response of the microphone. The filters can of course also be combined. This makes the D2 large diaphragm microphone suitable for both vocals and various instrumental recordings. Golden Age Project particularly recommends the microphone for Bass drums, bass guitar, speech and vocals. The 3-stage filter provides a practical way of experimenting with the sound without having to change the microphone. Thanks to its good directionality, the Golden Age Project D2 is also suitable for live use.
