6-String & 12-String SlimTaper-Necks

Both the 12-string and the 6-string mahogany neck of the Epiphone EDS-1275 have the classic slim SlimTaper profile for unhindered playability in all registers and are fitted with 20-fret Laurel fingerboards. While the upper 12-string neck has a nut width of 45 mm, the 6-string neck is slightly slimmer at 43 mm and evokes a classic Gibson feel. Thanks to the flowing neck-body connection, both necks can be played surprisingly well right up to the highest registers.

Four Epiphone ProBucker pickups

In order to create a good tonal balance between the two necks, both levels use the same pickup model. Epiphone ProBucker 2s are used in the neck positions, while the bridge positions use a slightly hotter-wound Epiphone ProBucker 3. The two 6-string humbuckers are open-coil, while the 12-string pickups have a nickel cover with a gold look. Separate 3-way toggles are available for both necks to select the pickup. In addition, the instrument offers a further 3-way toggle for selecting the active neck, which activates the necks either separately or simultaneously.

Epiphone LockTone Hardware

The gold-look hardware of the Epiphone EDS-1275 Alpine White is fundamentally based on the original model from the 1960s, but offers a particularly useful additional feature: thanks to the locking function of the two LockTone Tune-o-Matics, which are designed as 6-string and 12-String , the resonance transmission into the body is greatly improved compared to conventional TOM systems. Behind them, the strings are each held by original "claw-style" tailpieces. The hardware equipment of the Epiphone EDS-1275 is completed by a total of 18 Epiphone Deluxe tuning machines with historically correct keystone wings.
