With the EVH Frankenstein Relic MN Red, Eddie van Halen presents a replica of his legendary Frankenstrat ("Frankie") that is absolutely authentic, from the Relic finish to the dummy pickup on the neck and the dummy switch housed in the centre pickup slot. Construction-wise, EVH relies on a basswood body and a bolt-on quartersawn maple neck with oil finish, while the slim "EVH Modified C" profile and compound fingerboard radius create the best conditions for extremely smooth playability. With an EVH Wolfgang humbucker bolted directly into the body wood at the bridge, the EVH Frankie delivers hot rock tones at the guitar amp, delivering flowing solo lines and virtuoso tappings as expertly as tightly played riffs. As a true Super Strat, the EVH Frankie also features a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo with D-Tuna, which not only works absolutely free of detuning but also allows lightning-fast and precise retuning to drop-D.
