The Drawmer DS101 is a modular Noise gate for the 500 Series rack system and is based on the proven technology of the DS201. With adjustable attack, hold, decay and range parameters, it allows precise control of signal processing. Thanks to flexible key filters and external trigger inputs, it is suitable for a wide range of studio and live applications, from classic Noise gating to creative dynamic effects.
With variable attack, hold and decay times, the opening and closing of the Gates can be precisely adjusted. The range control makes it possible to attenuate signals only if required instead of suppressing them completely.
Individually adjustable high- and low-pass filters allow the DS101 to use specific frequency ranges for triggering the Gates . The key listen function allows direct control of the filtered frequency ranges.
The Gate can be controlled either by internal or external signals. For example, a Bassdrum can be used as a trigger for a bass sound via the key input to enable precise interaction between the two signals.
Thanks to the integrated link function, adjacent DS101 modules can be connected to each other via an optical infrared trigger. This makes it possible to operate a total of up to ten DS101s synchronously, while each module retains its own envelope parameters.
In addition to classic gating, the DS101 offers a ducking mode that is particularly suitable for voice and broadcast applications. Here, the main signal is attenuated by an external control signal, for example to superimpose speech over music.
Furthermore, the DS101 is characterized by an extremely fast response time and remains free of unwanted "chattering" thanks to its stable trigger detection. The visual level display in "Traffic Light" design also ensures clear control of the gate status.
