With Queen of Pentacles Endorphin.es presents a seven-voice drum module with hybrid sound generation. The analog part of the sound generation refers to bass drum, snare and clap, which are adjustable in pitch, volume and another parameter. The four digital instruments are distributed among hihats (open & closed), ride and crash and are sample-based. The control function of the digital sounds is switchable, with the same button you get access to the MicroSD Card, which holds eight sets of four sounds each. Sonically, the QoP is close to EDM and dark techno or the typical industrial sound and can not quite deny its proximity to processed 909 sounds. Nicolas Bougaïeff (Mute, Novamute) is responsible for the factory samples; they also contain processed samples of the Paiste 602 cymbal. The Endorphin.es Queen of Pentacles drum module is not lacking in sound processing and effects either: on the analog side there is a resonant lowpass/highpass with downstream VCA and saturator. The final part is a digital effects processor, which has already been used in other Endorphin.es modules and shines with a total of 16 effects from the Airways and Darkwaves banks. Common to all channels is the manual trigger button and the Accent or Velocity input. If a clock from a sequencer or MIDI interface is fed to the clock input, the trigger buttons turn into retrigger buttons that follow the tempo. Numerous CV inputs can be used to breathe even more life into the generated grooves.
