The Expert Sleepers Amelia envelope at a glance

Amelia by Expert Sleepers is a fully analogue envelope with an unusual ADBR (Attack/Decay/Break/Release) configuration. The module was especially designed for use in sequencers, where often only a trigger output and no Gate with adjustable length is available. Therefore Amelia allows complex and flexible envelope shapes generated from a simple trigger signal. Instead of the usual sustain phase, Amelia works with the breakpoint. This controls the temporal transition between Decay and release. The curve characteristics of the Attack and Release phases are continuously adjustable from logarithmic to linear to exponential. The three modes Gated, Break and Auto cover everything you can expect from a modern envelope. In the Gated mode, gate times of different lengths are taken into account. The Break mode is best used with short triggers to control the control behaviour. Auto is actually the loop mode, turning the envelope into an LFO with unusual waveforms. Three-speed ranges are available, from very percussive to very smooth; in Auto mode higher modulation rates will be achieved. LEDs signal which envelope phase is currently being run through. Each of the four envelope phases has its own CV input, so lively modulations far away from classic ADSR processes are one of Amelia's specialities.
