Cnoc by Instruo is an extremely fast function generator that can work as an Attack/Release respectively Attack/Sustain/Release envelope or LFO. Two switches select the waveform and also the loop mode. The two faders, which can also be modulated via CV, set the course of the envelope. In LFO mode, the waveform and its speed are set with the sliders. Here the module also distinguishes whether a Gate is present or not. Without Gate the circuit behaves like a free-running LFO, with Gate Attack and Release are looped until Gate ends again.
Regarding the connections Instruo has reached into the bag of tricks on the 4TE: the unipolar output is more suitable for the output of an envelope-like progression, whereas the bipolar output is virtually predestined for LFO-like progressions. There is also an end-of-cycle output that generates a trigger as soon as the voltage of Release drops to zero volts. The gate output refers to either the attack or release phase and can thus be used as a trigger delay for other envelopes. The IN connector is primarily intended for Gate and triggers to trigger the envelope, but if a control voltage is present, the module turns into a full-featured slew limiter that bends and smoothes incoming control voltages.
