      Introducing Qu-Bit Aurora: Spectral Reverb

The Qu-Bit Electronix Aurora at a glance

Aurora by Qu-Bit Electronix is a stereo effects module that bills itself as a spectral reverb, but covers much more than you're used to from reverbs. With just a few controls, the module creates beautiful, dense reverb tails that range from tiled bathrooms to the Grand Canyon. Amidst these atmospheric sounds, Aurora can transpose the wet signal in the range of plus/minus three octaves, adds several multitap stereo delays with different time intervals at once , and decorates the effect signal with harmonic filtering. With the Reverse mode, the wet signal can be played backwards at the touch of a button or via incoming Gate . The same applies to the Freeze function. The same is true for the Freeze function, which freezes and plays back the already digitized input signal. Since Aurora's sonic behavior is completely dependent on the input signal, no two patches sound alike, leading to an endless world of surprises and discoveries. All of this is made possible by a phase-vocoding audio engine with 24-bit / 48 KHz signal conversion that separates the time and pitch ranges of the input signal. By blurring these signals, one can achieve beautiful time-stretched spurs or cybernetic metal effects. The science fiction-like results of this effect module become even more vivid by using the six control voltage inputs; modulated in a rhythmic context you get acquainted with sounds you would certainly never have expected from a Reverb .
