Transfer from Future Retro is a superb-sounding analog multimode filter that offers an impressive selection of sixteen filter variants. In essence, Transfer is the Eurorack adaptation of the filter circuit from the Vectra synthesizer. It provides lowpass, bandpass, highpass and notch modes in different dB slopes. Some variants extend deeper, others emphasize resonance, and several fall under the VCS label. The VCS types are inspired by classic British EMS synthesizers, known for their ability to smooth fast-changing modulation signals. Sonically, Transfer sits between vintage Roland character, a touch of EMS flavor and a hint of Moog-like resonance. The filter is highly modulatable, with three bipolar CV inputs that let you select filter type via control voltage and modulate cutoff and resonance. The audio input can be driven hard and remains musically rich even at maximum level. Thanks to the built-in VCA, Transfer can also serve as the final module in a signal chain depending on the patch. The VCA activates automatically when a cable is connected to its CV input.
