Roland's System-100m, which was built from 1979 to 1984, is probably one of the best known modular systems. The manageable number of modules and especially the presence of several functions per module made it an attractive instrument for many users. Behringer has transferred the classic dimensions to the compact Eurorack format and has taken great care to ensure that the sound and function of the Behringer 297 Dual Portamento & CV Mixer are in no way inferior to the cult object.

The Behringer 297 Dual Portamento & CV Mixers module contains two CV mixers and two portamento controllers. There are also two fixed voltages (-10 V and +10 V), each with its own attenuator and output. Each of the two CV mixers has four adjustable inputs, two of which are connected to the fixed voltages, which can be interrupted by plugging in a cable. The outputs are dual with positive and negative voltages. The two portamento controllers preferably bend or loop control voltages from the keyboard or sequencer; the intensity can be set manually or by another CV.
