New System Instruments Triphase Oscillator in detail:

The Triphase Oscillator from New System Instruments is an analog sawtooth oscillator with three independent phases and bipolar mixer. The sound generation principle of the Triphase Oscillator is based on phase cancellation. This is realized by three identical oscillators, subordinated to the main oscillator, which are exactly equal in frequency and can be shifted and modulated in phase. This results in incredibly lively, layered sawtooth sounds that can rightfully call themselves supersaws, as well as billowing textures with strong chorus and phaser-like effects. A garat for radiant leads, organic basslines, cluster-like sounds and meandering drones! The main oscillator has an FM input with attenuator and a hardsync input, the phase oscillators follow both. Modulation of the phase oscillators is done manually and via bipolar CV input. In addition, each phase has its own audio output and can be mixed to the mix output via a likewise bipolar mixer. The mixer itself is built in the CP-3 style, which is known from old Moog systems. This has the property of adding slight distortion to the signal above a certain level, which is positively noticeable in the overtone spectrum.
