The Noise Engineering Toros Iteritas Alia (TIA) is a powerful digital oscillator module designed for creating evolving drones and interlocking textures. At its core is a flexible multi-operator phase modulation engine, offering three distinct algorithms that use three or four oscillators in complex, layered configurations. The innovative Blendex controls determine how each oscillator is routed—either directly to the output or as a phase modulator for the next oscillator—depending on the selected algorithm. The frequency control range is scalable, allowing users to span a minor third, one octave, or two octaves, offering precision for both melodic work and deep modulation. Each parameter features its own CV input, giving users access to an enormous range of modulatable timbres—from deep, unsettling bass tones to chaotic, surreal soundscapes. The printed cogwheel graphics on the panel aren't just for looks—they represent the interconnected nature of the parameters: as you move deeper into the signal path, each adjustment (via knob or CV) increasingly targets specific sound aspects, allowing highly nuanced control. TIA also includes a main audio output, a gate input and manual button for octave jumps, ideal for live performance or creative sequencing. The dedicated Fun output emits a buzzy sawtooth waveform based on the core frequency—perfect for adding harmonic grit or layering with other voices.
