Future Sound Systems Gristleizer Pre-Amplifier TG5 is an interface module with additional functions for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. The Gristleizer modules are based on an old effect device of industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle. The TG5 pre-amplifier allows any type of external audio source to be integrated into a Eurorack system. The line input is first passed through an FET stage of the preamplifier and then into a THAT VCA whose direct output is available on the clean output. This source is then fed to the master output through two additional FET amplification stages and a tone range (which includes bass, mid and treble controls). Bit and boost controls allow further control over the sound of the input signal. By accessing the module's gain control input, the envelope outputs can be used as control sources for the preamplifier, converting the module into a dynamic compressor (inverted envelope) or expander (normal envelope).
