The Yamaha Recording Custom Birch Snare 14"x8" in Solid Black is a professional 6-layer (6mm) birch wood snare drum with 10 tension rods on each side and a lacquer finish. Available in four colors and two sizes, they are the ideal complement to the Yamaha Recording Custom shell sets. The snare wire with 25 high carbon steel strands is adjusted easily and sensitively by the Q-type throw-off. Equipped with Remo U.S.A. heads, 1.6 mm steel hoops, One-Piece Lug and the typical 30° bearing edge, the Recording Custom Snares offer professional conditions for studio and stage.

Recording Custom: Birch drum shell

The Recording Custom Snares are available in four different lacquer finishes that perfectly match the existing Recording Custom shell sets. The 1.6 mm steel hoops with 10 tuning rods guarantee tuning stability, also thanks to the one-piece lugs and open sound with lots of attack. The shell consists of 6 layers of finest American birch, with a total thickness of 6 mm. On the batter and reso side there are original Remo Ambassador heads, one Coated and one Hazy. The classic Yamaha Q-Type throw-off promises smoothness and stability. As with all recording custom drums from Yamaha, the bearing edge is milled at a 30° angle so that the head lies perfectly on the drum. The larger contact surface also produces a richer sound, which is characterized by a lot of attack and volume both in the studio and live use on stage.
