The Sonor AQ2 Safari Set in Titanum Quartz is a four-piece drum set for advanced drummers or ambitious beginners with seven-ply maple drum shells. Thanks to its small size and flexible adjustment options, it is also suitable as a practice kit for children. It is also very easy to transport, incredibly light in weight and can be assembled and dismantled in no time. This makes it the ideal instrument for street musicians. The drums are manufactured by Sonor according to the proven CLTF principle, i.e. the wood layers are cross-glued at an angle of 90°. Sonor's AQ2 series lugs are all equipped with the TuneSafe system for consistent tuning. The bearing edges are 45°, resulting in an exact head contact and a focussed tone. The new Sonor Smart Mount Tom suspension was developed in Germany and ensures low shell contact and unhindered resonance.

Sonor AQ2: Maple drum shell

All drums of the AQ2 set are made of seven layers of maple. Three layers of Canadian maple are covered with two layers of Asian maple on the outside and two layers on the inside. This results in a very warm and focused tone with a deep basic character. The bass drum is 7.2 mm thin and toms / snare only 5.8 mm, this contributes significantly to the balanced and resonant sound. In addition, the individual layers of wood are cross-glued at an angle of 90°, so that the shell remains free of tension. The lugs are all equipped with the Sonor TuneSafe system, thus ensuring tuning reliability and constant sound. Also the exact 45° bearing edge allows easy tuning and perfect head support and additionally focuses the sound.

The Sonor AQ2 series is available in five different configurations (Stage, Studio, Bop, Safari and Martini). So you have the right drums for every application and musical style. No matter if small club gig, street music, recording studio or big festival - there is the right drumset for everyone. In addition, four high-quality lacquer finishes and one wrap finish are available. A special feature of the Sonor AQ2 series is that every drum size in every finish is also available as a single drum, so your own set-up can be extended and changed as you like.
