Tonal Balance Control 3 is a referencing and metering plugin that gives you a clear answer to the most important question in mixing: Where does your track stand compared to professional productions? Instead of relying solely on your hearing, you get a visual Feedback of tonality, dynamics and stereo imaging and can make targeted adjustments.
The approach is simple, but extremely effective. Your Mix is compared directly with real references. This allows you to immediately recognize if your low-end is too spongy, the vocals are drowned out or the treble is too aggressive.
A key feature is the new capture function. This allows you to pull references not only from your DAW, but also directly from any audio source. Whether Spotify, YouTube or local files, everything can be used as a basis. These references are saved as targets and can be called up, combined and fine-tuned at any time. With Target Blender, you can mix several tracks to create your own reference curve and define exactly the sound you want to achieve.
Tonal Balance Control 3 goes much further than a classic analyzer. In addition to the familiar spectrum, you get several specialized displays that are directly oriented towards musical decisions. The tonal balance meter shows you how your frequency image compares to genre standards. There is also a leveled view that makes differences immediately visible. The Vocal Balance Meter helps you to classify the presence of your vocals clearly in Mix , while Dynamics and Stereo Width Meter show you how energetic and wide your track really is.
The low-end is where it gets exciting. The Low-End Crest Factor gives you a feeling for whether your bass range is controlled or too restless. This is a real game changer, especially in mastering.
In addition to the more than 30 genre-based targets, you can create your own references at any time. Simply import audio files or capture your current Mix directly from the DAW and save complete profiles for songs or entire albums. This ensures consistent releases because you don't have to reorient yourself every time, but work with clearly defined sound targets.
The integrated hybrid EQ is a new feature. This means you can not only analyze, but also correct directly in the plugin. Static and dynamic bands allow quick interventions exactly where your Mix deviates from the target. In combination with the integration in Ozone and Neutron, the whole thing becomes even more powerful. Reference data can be transferred directly into the assistants or EQs so that your workflow moves seamlessly from measuring to editing.
In addition to the plugin, there is a standalone app that allows you to record references from any desktop audio source. This makes the workflow much more flexible and opens the door for quick A/B comparisons with real productions outside your DAW.
