Universal Vari-Mu Compressor

The Chandler RS660 is modeled on the historic Fairchild 660 and EMI RS124 tube compressors and is hand-built at Chandler to the highest quality standards. The compressor works on the same functional and operating principle as its two predecessors, but covers a wider range of applications thanks to its modernized circuitry and extended time constants.

In positions 1 through 3, the seven control stages of the Time Constant knob encompass the Fairchild 660's fast attack and release settings for a colorful vintage compressor sound that can also be used to absorb rapid level changes. Numbers 5 through 7 represent slower, more cautious time values for compression with fewer artifacts and no distinct coloring. Position 4 is a compromise of both sound worlds, which is particularly suitable for vocals and acoustic guitar.
