Precise drum recording

With the Presonus DM7 complete set, you get a selection of 7 microphones that you need for basic drum recording: The BD-1 large-diaphragm dynamic mic provides a solid foundation and brings the Bass Drum forward by attenuating boomy mid frequencies on its own while emphasizing the bass and attack range. With these characteristics, the BD-1 is naturally also suitable for miking bass amplifiers or low brass instruments.

The 4 ST-4 tom microphones are of course also ideal for snare drums or guitar amps in addition to suspended and floor toms. They are supplied with an infinitely adjustable holder and impress with their versatility and very compact dimensions.

Small diaphragm microphones are usually used for the main miking of a drum kit. This is why Presonus has included its OH-2 condenser microphones with the DM7 Set. They can be used in any configuration for overhead miking or as support microphones on individual cymbals or the hi-hat, should you purchase additional microphones in the future. Apart from that, the OH-2 can also be used to record acoustic guitar, violin, piano or even vocals.

All in all, the DM7 is a great way to get started with microphones: You can use it not only for drums, but also for a variety of instruments and amplifiers, whether live or in the studio.
