







As the very first mass-produced semi-hollow electric guitar, the Gibson ES-335 is undisputedly one of the most famous guitar designs. In the hands of numerous iconic musicians from Chuck Berry to B.B. King and Alex Lifeson, the instrument has already proven its enormous tonal versatility in jazz, Blues and rock and continues to enjoy unbroken popularity among guitarists of all kinds. With the Gibson ES-335 Dot Watermelon, Gibson skilfully continues the tradition of the classic in the late fifties. including hardshell case!
In order to add its warm and full resonance to the sound of the ES-335 when played on an amplifier, the model uses a traditional semi-hollow body, which is made of three-ply glued maple and poplar wood for ideal resonance characteristics. Thanks to the solid center block under the bridge, the susceptibility of the construction to feedback is noticeably minimized, which means that even higher gain settings can be easily achieved with the ES-335.
The Gibson ES-335 Dot Watermelon is a replica of the early models from the late fifties and early sixties and features a sturdy mahogany neck with a Rounded C neck profile that offers a controlled hand position for clean Chords and secure layered playing. The neck is finished off with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, which features the dot inlays used on the ES-335 up to the 1962 model year and, with its 12" radius , evokes classic Gibson playability in all registers.
Two Gibson Calibrated T-Type humbuckers are responsible for the sound conversion of the ES-335 Dot . The two double coilers were wound according to the classic specifications of the T-Top humbucker of the sixties as the successor to the legendary PAF and offer a balanced sound with additional midrange warmth. The wiring of the ES-335 Dot is furthermore completely hand-wired and features high-quality potentiometers and genuine Orange Drop capacitors.
