Binary converter from Xaoc Devices

The Drezno II from XAOC Devices is an element of the Leibniz Binary Subsystem, a series of modules that enables signal processing in 8 bits. The module consists of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). It is therefore capable of converting continuous analog signals into a digital number stream from 0 to 255 (the binary data) and a digital number stream into an analog signal. These numbers are transmitted using eight parallel binary signals, which can be gates, bars, rhythms, etc. The binary converter can also be used alone for waveforming analog signals and voltages based on their binary representation. The two halves of the module can be used completely independently or connected together at the rear with a ribbon cable. One of the expanders Erfurt, Gera, Jena, Lipsk II, Poczdam or Rostock can be used for installation between the ADC and DAC. In contrast to most other modules in the Leibniz series, Drezno II can also be operated independently with the usual repertoire of analog modules. Version II is an improved reissue of the original Drezno from 2017. The new converters have a much higher resolution, resulting in lower noise and higher accuracy down to the lowest bit. The module can also be used to quantize pitch voltages. The potentiometer ranges are factory-calibrated for the chromatic scale within 10Vpp (128 semitone steps) and 20Vpp (256 semitone steps).
