The Elta Music TSC 12 is a touch controller designed to add vivid, hands-on expression to any Eurorack setup. Derived from the company's Solar 42N Ambient Machine, it has been carefully adapted to meet the specific needs of modular users. The TSC 12 offers three primary functions: keyboard, arpeggiator and sequencer. In keyboard mode you can choose between single, twin or split operation, determining how the touch strips are assigned. Each strip can output either a fixed pitch or a continuous control voltage ranging from 0-8 V. Instead of pressure sensitivity, the capacitive keys respond to changes in the contact area of your fingers, enabling smooth and nuanced playing. Portamento can be engaged for effortless pitch slides, and a built-in vibrato LFO is available when extra movement is desired. The pressure output is highly flexible: it can produce an ASR (Attack/Sustain/Release) envelope, a looped AD (Attack/Decay) envelope, or random voltages for unpredictable modulation. Both the arpeggiator and sequencer can sync to an external clock or run from the internal clock. Each offers four playback directions and extensive parameter control, with sequencer patterns up to 16 steps long. For quick changes in performance, the TSC 12 provides four user presets, allowing instant recall of different setups or calibrations at the touch of a button.
