Active mini reference monitors for honest mix decisions
The Avantone Pro Mixcube Active are legendary tools for anyone who really wants to understand their mixes. Developed as a modern evolution of the classic studio cubes, they deliver exactly what is often missing in everyday production: merciless honesty. No whitewashing, no low basstrick, but a focused, mid-emphasized sound that mercilessly reveals or a mix also works outside the studio.
This is precisely why mixcubes have been a safety net in the studio for years. They simulate realistic monitoring situations such as car radios, televisions, laptops or Bluetooth speakers and help to identify translation problems at an early stage.
The Mixcube Active goes far beyond the classic passive cubes. The integrated Class A/B amplifier was developed from scratch and deliberately oversized. The result is an extremely clean, stable drive with plenty of headroom and minimal distortion, even at higher levels.
Thanks to the active design, the Mixcubes are ready for immediate use and can be integrated into any setup - in the studio or on the road.
At the heart of the Mixcube Active is a proprietary 5.25-inch driver with a die-cast aluminum basket. The specially developed paper cone made from New Zealand cellulose with mica fibers combines low weight with high rigidity. This ensures a fast response, clear mids and maximum transparency.
The closed construction without bass reflex port prevents artificial low bass boosting and ensures a controlled, direct sound.
The solid 18 mm MDF housing minimizes resonances and ensures a stable sound image. An integrated 5/8" microphone stand mount allows quick mounting on stands, ideal for small studios, mobile setups or on-location productions.
The internal shielding reduces noise and makes the Mixcube Active insensitive to difficult environments.
Mixcube Active are not main monitors and don't want to be. They are the second, honest pair that tells you where your mix is going. Voices, guitars, snare and balance immediately come into focus. If it works here, it works everywhere.
