Classic sound, modern versatility

The AMS Neve 1073SPX-D is a combination of the legendary 1073 preamp, a three-band equaliser and a USB audio interface. The 1073 preamp delivers a warm and musical sound that is renowned for its detail and character. To ensure that the sound sounds the way it does, a pure Class A circuit and Marinair transformers have been installed at the input and output. In addition to its function as a Preamp , the 1073SPX-D also offers the option of processing and enhancing audio signals with a three-band equaliser, which features a low-shelf, high-shelf and bell filter.

Digital and analogue

Thanks to the USB connection, the device can also be connected directly to a PC/MAC and integrated into the DAW or into an existing setup. In order to retain the legendary 1073 sound even with digital signals, high-quality analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue converters with 192kHz/24-bit have been installed. Further interfaces are provided with ADAT for digital and XLR/6.35mm jack for analogue signals as well as a word clock output for clock signals. The connections also allow monitors and headphones to be connected directly to the 1073SPX-D, giving User full control over the monitoring setup. The blend control can then be used to switch between direct monitoring and DAW audio. The insert sockets for send and Return on the rear panel are designed as 6.35 mm jacks and offer the option of integrating external devices such as effects units. Instruments can also be connected directly to the device via the Hi-Z input with switchable 48V phantom power on the front panel. The switches for a high-pass filter and the -20dB attenuation pad can also be found on the front panel.

With the 1073SPX-D, Neve now offers the legendary 1073 sound with digital integration, making the channel strip a versatile companion for everyday live and studio use in addition to its robust design.
