The Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor is powerful compressor for mastering that features both optical and discrete sections.

The optical section of the Mastering Compressor uses an electroluminescent optical attenuator and a two-stage release time to greatly reduce the dynamics of the input signal. There are stepped rotary controls for optical threshold and optical gain that allow you to reduce the program material in dynamic range, readjusts the gain to the desired level and pumps it onto the second stage of the compressor.

The Second stage of the Mastering Compressor is the discrete section, which uses a discrete VCA to finish off the job the optical section started. Using additional stepped rotary controls like discrete threshold, discrete gain, discrete ratio, discrete attack and discrete recover, you can further sculpt the dynamic qualities of the incoming signal to achieve a much more controlled sound.

The Mastering compressor also features sidechain filtering, output transformer switching technology which allows you to chose what metal type you want, between nickel, iron or steel, each with their own sonic character, VU metering and both dual-mono and stereo operation.
